Mickey Mantle "No. 7" Single Signed Baseball (PSA)

Mickey Mantle "No. 7" Single Signed Baseball (PSA)

In speaking of 19-year-old rookie Mickey Mantle in 1951, New York Yankee manager Casey Stengel said, "He has more speed than any other slugger I've ever seen, and more slug than any other speedster.... It ain't logical." Not only did Mantle have an unparalleled combination of speed and power, but among his many talents was his beautiful handwriting. Presented is a Mickey Mantle single signed baseball with Mantle's immaculately written signature, along with his inscribed "No. 7", on the sweet spot. When he broke into the Major Leagues, Mantle was the fastest man in baseball. Later, injuries curtailed some of the Hall of Famer's speed, but his power remained. With 536 career homers, Mantle has the most home runs of any switch-hitter in history. The 3-time American League MVP won a Triple Crown, was a key part of seven Yankee World Championships, and was a 20-time All-Star. The signature is on an Official American League Ball (MacPhail). Signing in blue ink with a ballpoint pen, Mantle, who used to frequently practice his signature before he even became a baseball professional, signed the ball with his usual flourishing meticulousness, and the signature is an 8.5/10. The ball is in excellent condition. Mickey Mantle played his last game 54 years ago, but his memorabilia is still a top prize for any collector. Full LOA from PSA.
