Mickey Mantle Original Artwork by Willard Mullin

Mickey Mantle Original Artwork by Willard Mullin

Original 1950s news art done by master American sports cartoonist Willard Mullin. This artwork of Yankees slugger Mickey Mantle reads: "They tell us the pitch-catch crew reports at St. Pete Thursday... But we thought they had been warming up for weeks." This circa-1958 keepsake measures approximately 15x22" and also features Del Webb, Roy Hamey, George Weiss and Dan Topping, who is advising Weiss, "Give him nothing too fat, Georgie, old boy!" The ornate pencil sketching is in nice condition with typical editing and artist's markings. Suitable for framing, this display piece is a nice addition for the original art collector.
