Mickey Mantle Signed New York Yankees Jersey with No. 7 Inscription
"Somebody once asked me if I ever went up to the plate trying to hit a home run," said Mickey Mantle. 'I said, 'Sure, every time.'" Mantle was successful 536 times in hitting a home run, the most for any switch-hitter in Major League history. Displayed is a New York Yankee #7 jersey, manufactured by Rawlings, that is Mantle signed and inscribed (#7). Mantle played his entire 18-year career with the Yankees, and he was a 20-time All-Star, a 3-time American League MVP, a Triple Crown winner (1956) and a big part of seven New York Yankees World Championships. With the homer hitting prowess of Aaron Judge on display in the 2022 season, many baseball fans are looking back to the great home hitting years of other Yankee outfielders, such as Babe Ruth, Roger Maris, and Mantle. The fame of Mantle lives on in recalling the 1961 season and the chase by Roger Maris and Mantle of Babe Ruth's single season homer record of 60. The Rawlings knit jersey is white with navy blue pinstripes. Seven silver colored buttons run down the front. A Rawlings' manufacturers' tag is on the lower left front, providing washing instructions and showing size "42." An interlocking "NY" is on the left chest. A Rawlings neck tag shows size "42," and on the back of the tag are washing instructions and printed notice that the jersey is "100% polyester." The back of the jersey has "7," in a sewn-on navy numeral. Mantle has signed the jersey on the left chest, just under the interlocking "NY." Mickey has used a blue marker to sign his name in his usual neat, big, and bold script. Underneath his signature, Mantle has inscribed "No. 7." The jersey is in excellent condition, and a Mantle signature has eternal value.
