Mike Richter Team USA 1991 Canada Cup Game Worn Jersey
Glittering Team USA jersey worn by young goaltender Mike Richter during the 1991 Canada Cup. Played against the backdrop of an altered political landscape, with the fall of Communism, the U.S. team took advantage of the weakened Russians and Czechs to get to the finals against Team Canada, who swept the 2 games in what would be the last Canada Cup series. The young Richter, just 2 years after entering the NHL with the Rangers, played gutty in goal, going 4-3 with a 3.14 GAA. Blue heavyweight jersey has the red, white and blue “USA” logo across the chest, white “Richter” and red, white & blue “1” on back, in tackle twill. “1” also on both arms. “CCM” logo on back bottom hem and “Labatt Coupe Canada Cup” logo on left chest. Red, white and blue pattern on shoulders and sleeves. In-neck tagging is “Maska” with size-52 flag tag. Light use.
