Mordecai Brown Signed Photograph (JSA)

Mordecai Brown Signed Photograph (JSA)

A standout hurler during the deadball era, Mordecai Brown won a pair of World Series in the early 1900s and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. This vintage 8x10" photo depicts Brown during his tenure with the Chicago Cubs, for whom he pitched from 1904-1912, and at the end of his career in 1916, and his follow-through shows the damaged right hand for which he earned the nickname, Three-Finger. The crisp signature with inscription reads, "To my best friend, Mordecai Brown, a Cub," in 9/10 ink. Though the photo is creased and torn, the subject is unaffected and this specimen would look amazing restored, as most of the restoration would be just the border and background. Accompanied by JSA auction letter - Family LOA.
