Sepia, sun-dappled photo catches Nap Lajoie in the twilight of his Hall of Fame career with the team named for him, the Cleveland Naps. With Paul Thompson & Harris & Ewing bankstamps identfy the great pedigree of this photograph. Attached on back is a typewritten caption that reads in part, "Father Time has made inroads on his usefulness." His hands seem almost separated from the bat as if he were letting go instead of following through. Brilliance of his image contrasts nicely with the shadowed, near-empty grandstand.
