Napoleon Lajoie First-Generation T206 Pose Vintage Photograph by Carl Horner

Napoleon Lajoie First-Generation T206 Pose Vintage Photograph by Carl Horner

The first and only one we have ever seen. An exceptional image of Cleveland's best is the most famous image of Napoleon Lajoie, used on everything from baseball cards to picture postcards. The dark tones of his high-collared uniform are in stark contrast to the pure white Horner background. The detail and contrast are perfect right down to the his satiny facial skin. Two creases on the horizontal, and tape on verso but otherwise EX. Measures 3 5/8" x 5 1/8." The appearance of this across our desks just recently, along with the Wagner, and Cobb T206 poses in this same auction was a hobby revelation. Fresh to the market, a wonderful example of baseball photography.
