Nelson Hunt Race Worn Silk

Nelson Hunt Race Worn Silk

Texas oilman and horse owner/breeder Nelson Bunker Hunt died earlier this year but wore this silk with green checkerboard pattern during an unspecified race. It shows nice use and features: "Nelson B. Hunt" sewn inside the front tail. Hunt had an indelible effect on international racing and breeding in the 1970s and 1980s, after purchasing his first Thoroughbred in 1955. He was honored with Eclipse Awards as outstanding breeder in 1976, 1985 and 1987.
