Norm Cash Single-Signed Hand-Painted Baseball
Norm Cash was an extremely popular baseball player. This was because he could really hit, and he could really be funny. Offered is a single-signed Official American League (MacPhail) Norm Cash baseball from the 1980s, with a beautiful portrait of Cash on the panel below Cash's signature, all hand painted. The artist has signed the portrait, but we can't read the signature. Cash played 17 seasons in the Major Leagues. After playing his first two years with the Chicago White Sox, the first baseman played his final 15 years with the Detroit Tigers. He was a 5-time All-Star who helped the Tigers to the 1968 World Championship. Cash hit .271 lifetime, with 377 home runs. His peak season was 1961 when he led the American league in batting at .361. The ball is EX-MT and has Cash's signature on the sweet spot in 7/10 blue ink. After Cash's tremendous 1961 season, when he not only won the American League batting title, but also led the AL in OBP (.487) and OPS (1.148), Cash was asked the secret of his success that year. he replied, "I owe all my success to expansion pitching, a short right field, and my hollow bats." This single-signed baseball is a wonderful keepsake because Norman Cash was most emphatically simply one-of-a kind.
