Old Timers Baseball Autograph Collection (84 pieces)
Everything old is new again, according to the old movie song, and these autographs from baseball old timers are fresh for this auction. Obtained mostly in the 1980s and '90s, there are signed cards, cuts, postcards and more, including Bamberger, Carey, Cronin, Haines, Heydler, Joe Jackson (wife), Kling, Medwick, O'Doul, early Stargell, Wheat and Grove. Among the better pieces: 1948 Bowman Musial, Walter Nagl ALS, Spahn, 1952 Red Man with tabs, Koufax signed cap, Wynn 1949 Bowman, Bell and T. Jackson Perez Steele HOF, 1939 Brooklyn Dodgers fully team-signed envelope (22 signatures), three Hall of Fame tin plaques in gold (Mantle, Snider, Mays) though faded, three team-signed baseballs: a 1940s Dodgers (mostly secretarial) EX+, 1940s Philadelphia A's with Mauch and Simmons VG-EX, and Babe Ruth Sinclair contest ball. Ruth is secretarial, while Ted Williams, Rogers Hornsby, Joe McCarthy and others are difficult to make out as the signatures are light.
