Original Cleveland Barons Booster Club Arena Banner

Original Cleveland Barons Booster Club Arena Banner

Unique remembrance from the two short years in which the Cleveland Barons were in the NHL. The original Cleveland Barons were a minor league team in the American Hockey League from 1937-1973. They moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1973-74. Shortly before the 1976-77 season, the NHL California Golden Seals moved to Cleveland to become the Barons. Because the move did not become official until August, the Barons never had a real chance to promote the team prior to the season opener. They drew only 8,900 for the first game, and then attendance plummeted. The team never drew enough fans and merged into the Minnesota North Stars following the 1977-1978 campaign. Features the Cleveland Barons logo in the middle. "Cleveland Barons" above logo, "Booster Club" below logo. Small stain on letter "U." Very attractive red canvas banner with white felt lettering and logo. Measures 82.5x72".
