Orlando Cepeda 1967 Most Valuable Player Award
One and only dazzling trophy presented the man who was the greatest player in the National League in the year of our Lord, 1967. Black ebony wood plaque is blessed with the sterling silver and gold image of Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis. Below it reads, "Most Valuable Player National League…Orlando Cepeda…St. Louis Cardinals…1967." A regal and important piece obtained directly from Orlando Cepeda by Barry Halper. Ex-Barry Halper Collection. EX-MT. 16" diameter. The "Baby Bull", this HOF'er was sometimes known as "The Babe Ruth of Puerto Rico." He led St. Louis to the 1967 pennant with a NL topping 111 RBI's and a .325 batting average.
