Pair of vintage photographs capturing famed racehorse Seabiscuit, each signed by Seabiscuit's owner, Charles Howard. 1) Photo of Seabiscuit working out on the track with jockey George Woolf. Signed "C. S. Howard" in black fountain pen (grading 8/10) in the lower right corner. Both the name of the horse and jockey are neatly scripted in black fountain pen along the base of the mount. The photo (9.25x7.25"), which is printed on a large mount (14.5x10.5"; visible dimensions) is in Excellent condition and remains housed in what appears to be its original frame (17.75x13.75"). 2) Photo of Seabiscuit during his retirement years pictured with seven of his foals. Signed and dated "C. S. Howard/1940" in black fountain pen (6/10) in the lower right corner. The vintage handwritten notation in black fountain pen along the base of the photo reads "Seabiscuit + Foals." Seabiscuit officially retired from racing on April 10, 1940, and eventually sired 108 foals before his death in 1947. The photo (9.25x7.25"; visible dimensions) is in apparent Excellent condition and has been matted and framed to total dimensions of 15.2x12.5".
