Pelle Lindbergh Philadelphia Flyers Game Used Hockey Stick
Rare game used goalie stick is a fitting memorial of the tragic death of Philadelphia Flyers' rising superstar Pelle Lindbergh. Victoriaville Pro model is uncracked with white cloth tape both composing the butt end and covering the blade; wear is evident on the tape with puck marks and surface loss at the base of the blade. Name is stamped on the shaft in black, misspelled as "P. Lindberg." A second round selection of the Philadelphia Flyers and the first European goalie ever drafted, in the 1979 entry draft, Lindbergh took his first three seasons to adjust before bursting into prominence. In '84-85, he earned the Vezina Trophy for Best Goalie with an impressive 40-17-7 record and 3.02 Goals Against Average (during the high-scoring Gretzky era), leading the Flyers to the Stanley Cup Finals. Though he appeared destined for greatness, that all ended on November 10, 1985, when Lindbergh suffered fatal injuries from crashing his Porsche, passing at the young age of 26.
