Penny Chenery Tweedy's Personal Belmont Stakes Overnight Entries Sheet from Secretariat's Triple Crown Victory (Chenery Provenance)
A rare offering, here is the overnights sheet made available to horsemen on Friday, June 8th 1973; the eve of Secretariat's monumental 31 length victory in the Belmont Stakes and thus capturing the Triple Crown. The person who acquired this overnight sheet on the backside of Belmont Park, featuring Secretariat drawing the inside post in the 8th race, was none other than Mrs. Penny Tweedy - owner of Secretariat. We daresay this is the last remaining Secretariat artifact of its kind. The entry sheet measures 8.5x14" and features the signature of Mr. Penny Tweedy. Accompanied is the original certificate of ownership from Sotheby's which hosted the auction of Ms. Penny Tweedy Chenery in 1999.
