Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe poster by Villamot
This work was created by the famed poster artist Bernard Villemot, promoting the Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe thoroughbred horse race in Longchamp, France. While there is no year listed, the race that year was sponsored by Loterie Nationale, which sponsored the event between 1949 and 1982. Since his passing in1989, Villemot's works have become more highly sought-after, and he has been referred to as the "painter-laureate of modern commercial art." The work measures 24x18", is mounted on linen, and is in NRMT condition.
