Rare 1905 Detroit Tigers Full Ticket

Rare 1905 Detroit Tigers Full Ticket

Presented is a very rare 1905 Detroit Tigers full ticket for what most likely was Game 4 of the regular season. In that game, held before 5,500 on April 22 at Bennett Park, the Tigers defeated the Chicago White Sox by a score of 6-3. Ed Killian (1-0) went the distance for the Tigers, and Nick Altrock also threw a complete game for his White Sox but took the loss to go 1-1. Future Hall of Fame outfielder Sam Crawford played first base that day for Detroit and went 1-2, with a double, a run scored, a RBI, and two walks. In that '05 season, the Tigers went 79-74-1 and finished in 3rd place in the American League. Crawford hit .254 that year, and led the Tigers in RBIs, with 73. In that dead ball era, Crawford tied for the club lead in home runs - with merely two. The complete ticket measures 2x4". In part, the ticket reads, "Detroit Base Ball Co./Season 1905 RAIN CHECK 4/50 cents." The ticket is in unbelievable condition for its age. We rate it as EX-MT or better.
