Rare 1941 All-Star Game Scorecard Variation
Program is scored. The All-Star Game was at Briggs Stadium, home of the Detroit Tigers. The National League was leading 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth inning, and Boston Red Sox outfielder Ted Williams stepped up to hit against Claude Passeau. With two on and two out, Wililams crushed a three-run homer to win the game 7-5 for the American League. Since the United States would enter World War II in December of 1941, many of the players in this All-Star game, such as Bob Feller, would be in military service for the 1942 season. Rare variation that was likely sold outside Briggs Stadium as a bootleg. Some toning on front cover. Very Good condition.
