Rare Jaque Plante Signed Photograph (PSA)
Jacques Plante was not only one of the better goalies in NHL history, but he was a free-thinking innovator who. Plate played hockey from 1947-1975, with some seasons off. He had great success with the Montreal Canadiens - playing with them from 1953-1963, as he helped them to win six Stanley Cups, with five of them consecutive. Plante won six Vezina Trophies and he shared a seventh one with Glenn Hall. He won a Hart Trophy as the NHL MVP, and he was an 8-time All-Star with three First Team All-Star selections. Plante designed his own goalie masks, and he was the first goaltender to regularly wear a mask in regulation play. In addition, Plante was an innovator of a style of goaltending in which the goalie left his crease while handling the puck before passing it to teammates. Plane played for five NHL teams and also was a goalie with the WHA Edmonton Oilers when he was 46 years old. Interestingly, the photo shows a young Plante as a Montreal Canadien, crouched in goal, his face maskless. He has signed the 8"x 10" color photo with what appears to be a gold-colored marker in neat script on the tapeless part of his stick. The photo shows some uneven cropping and some tiny chipping on the bottom, but it is otherwise in excellent condition. PSA LOA.
