Rare Lefty Gomez Signed Bat-O-Ball Wheaties Premium (1938)
This is quite a rare find! The Wheaties’ Bat-O-Ball dates from 1938 and has a photographic image of HOFer Vernon “Lefty” Gomez. The bat itself is 13” long and 3” wide and is made out of pressed cardboard. Just below the image there is an inscription “To Barry -Best Wishes -Vernon Lefty Gomez. The signature is in what appears to be black felt tip pen, however the ink has faded to a greenish gray color. The signature itself though is clearly legible giving it a rating of 9 out 10.
