Rare Willie Mays Signed Picture Check.
Complete personal check (8.25 x 3") signed by Mays in bold (10/10) blue ballpoint. Ornate bank draft features an image of the Say Hey Kid in his batting stance, along with his name printed across the top. Dated Dec 25, 1989 (Christmas day), the check is made out in an unknown hand to famous Philadelphia sports reporter Howard Eskin. Apparently, Eskin decided not to cash the check, as it shows no evidence of bank cancellation marks and remains as fresh as the day it was signed. Mays checks are a rarity in any form and this is the only example of this style that we have seen. One very small tear along the top border of the piece, likely created when it was removed from the check book, but otherwise Near Mint (NM).
