Roberto Clemente 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates World Champions Watch
This 1971 Pirates world championship watch has the distinction of having been awarded to Roberto Clemente, the MVP of the 7-game World Series against the Orioles. Two days later, Clemente gave the watch to his close friend and public relations assistant Ramiro Martinez in the lobby of the Sheraton Hotel in Pittsburgh, where several of Roberto's friends were staying. Watch has the Buc logo and "World Champions 1971" and an alligator-style leather band. Very slight tarnish on the gold corona, o/w EX+. Includes photo scan of Martinez with the watch and comes with original black and gold Sheaffer box, VG w/damage on the interior. Great piece, and yet another story of Clemente's generosity. LOA.
