Ross Youngs by Charles Conlon

Ross Youngs by Charles Conlon

A rare image because of the short time he played in the bigs. But no one mistook Young's greatness before he died of kidney disease at the age of 30. Charles M. Conlon's shot of the follow-through immortalizes Youngs' short, effective swing. He batted higher than .300 in seven straight season with the New York Giants and was later named to the Hall of Fame. 8x10 is overall EX. The image of Youngs is so clear you can almost read the label on his bat. And there is no ignoring the uniform pinstripes, a fashion shared by a certain other team in town. On verso, is Conlon's Evening Telegram stamp. and Conlon's handwritten identification of Youngs.
