Rubin "Hurricane " Carter Training Duffel Bag

Rubin "Hurricane " Carter Training Duffel Bag

The top middleweight contender during the 1960’s, Rubin Carter was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison before he ever got the chance at a title. It wasn’t until 1985 that Carter was freed from jail after a judge ruled that he did not receive a fair trial. The story of “Hurricane” Carter is a controversial one, and his legacy is still debated in boxing circles to this day. This U.S. Army issued green canvas duffel bag carried Rubin’s training gear and traveled with him daily to the Market Street Gym. Shows tremendous use and due to being stored, would benefit from a light cleaning. The offered training bag came directly from Carter’s son.
