Ruffian-Foolish Pleasure Belmont Match Race Program & Totes

Ruffian-Foolish Pleasure Belmont Match Race Program & Totes

Offered here is a program from the infamous 1975 Match Race between Ruffian and Foolish Pleasure, along with $2 totes and buttons from the race that pitted colt against filly in an equine "Battle of the Sexes." The standard race-day program is in MT condition, with no pencil marks and stark, white pages. The pinbacks, measuring 2.25" in diameter, each highlight one of the participants with "THE GREAT MATCH" above the horse's image, and the name below. The front images are clear and there is some rust on the backs. The $2 win tickets were uncashed, as Ruffian tragically broke down during the race, and was eventually put down.
