Ruffian vs. Foolish Pleasure Match Race Program and Buttons (4)

Ruffian vs. Foolish Pleasure Match Race Program and Buttons (4)

Two years after Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs waged their "Battle of the Sexes" on the tennis court, the mare Ruffian tried to take on her male counterpart Foolish Pleasure at Belmont Park, and was in the lead before suffering a snapped ankle, ending the upset bid. This 1975 program from that match race is folded and in VG-EX condition. There are also two buttons included in the lot, with Ruffian grading NRMT-MT and Foolish Pleasure meriting EX status. As an added bonus, there's a program from Ruffian's maiden race in 1974.
