Sandy Koufax Fans Mickey Mantle in 1963 World Series Opener
Hall of Fame hurler Sandy Koufax shined brightest during the 1963 World Series, bookending a four-game sweep of the Yankees with dominating victories. This wonderful double-weight, Sports Illustrated Type I photo shows Bombers slugger Mickey Mantle whiffing in Game 1 - one of 15 hitters Koufax fanned in the game, which was a Series record at the time. There is a mark on the back of the photo, which measures 13.5x9".
