Satchel Paige Signed Vintage Cleveland Indians Team Photo
A great vintage 8 x 10" team photograph of the Cleveland Indians is signed in blue ball point ink by Satchel Paige. The photo dates from sometime in 1948/49, the years he was a member of the Cleveland Indians Team. The signature rates a 5/6 due to some fading and the use of ball point pen on a photograph, which makes a bit more challenging to see clearly. The paper quality of the image is EX with sharp color contrast, clean edges, and only (2) creases which are fairly significant but are close to the edges so they do not interfere or detract from the central image. Satchel Paige had one of the longest and most prolific careers in baseball in history; he began playing for the Negro Leagues in the mid-1920's and then joined the major league in 1948 and continued playing until playing his last game for the Kansas City Athletics at the age of 59.
