Secretariat 1972 Amber Morn Allowance "Complimentary" Program from Ron Turcotte

Secretariat 1972 Amber Morn Allowance "Complimentary" Program from Ron Turcotte

From the private collection of Ron Turcotte and the Secretariat Archives. Historically significant in that it marks the first time Secretariat was ridden by jockey Ron Turcotte - a pairing of two future Hall of Famers. Perhaps the rarest of Secretariat's Saratoga programs simply because of lesser attendance from being run on weekday of Monday. Increasing its desirability: 1) It is a Complimentary Program - Track produced for complimentary use for employees, media, VIP's only. Much rarer than general programs, probably representing 1% of day's total programs produced. Identical to regular program, except for outer cover. 2) It is in absolute pristine clean and crisp mint condition, very unusual to ever see programs in this condition. Represents the one and only time Secretariat raced in allowance company, the rest of his races going forward were stakes. Secretariat won race by 1 1/2 lengths. MINT.
