Secretariat Mounted Horseshoe Worn at Meadow Farm at Doswell, Virginia (his birthplace)

Secretariat Mounted Horseshoe Worn at Meadow Farm at Doswell, Virginia (his birthplace)

One of the most dominant horses of all-time, Secretariat was an easy choice for racing's Hall of Fame. This shoe was worn by him during his days at Meadow Farm, which would have been prior to his racing career. Provenance is dated May 12, 1995 and reaffirmed by the Meadow Farms owner on their stationery (date June 12, 2003) as a gift to Mr. Sternheimer (Meadow Farms owner) from the celebrated Executive Assistant to Mrs. Chenery, Elizabeth Ham. This shoe is mounted on a wooden plaque measuring 6x9" and carries a plate that states in two lines: "SECRETARIAT 1973 TRIPLE CROWN." A simple, yet significant piece of racing history.
