Three from the 1880s include one engraved with the number 358 with a loop attached, and one engraved 416 with ribbon (detached). There is a third, which is not engraved. Three items from 1883 included are lighter in weight then the above badges, with only one engraved 191, with a maroon and white ribbon attached. One other ribbon is included which has become detached. The last item, from 1888, is a 1.5" sterling silver collar button used for entry to the race course, with an intricate blown out image of a horse racing, and around the perimeter reads "E.F. Randolph and Coney Island Jockey Club," a member number of 293 engraved on the verso. Also included in this collection, a magnificent and ornate embossed 1.25" round sterling silver emblem that reads "Rockaway Steeple Chase 1885 Members Badge" and on the verso are elegantly embossed initials. The badge is attached to a chain and a 3" round cardboard paper label which reads "Rockaway Steeplechase Association Subscription Member" and on verso, "1885 Autumn Meeting #282 (signed) E.P. Mitchell." Condition on the collection is EX-MT to NRMT with exception of the ribbons, which are somewhat tattered.
