Signed Baseballs with Mickey Mantle Hand-Painted & Bing Crosby (5)
Interesting selection of five (5) signed baseballs, two of which are actually mini-balls. 1) Willie Mays painted on side panel of an Official National League (Feeney) ball. Ball is clean but lightly toned throughout, the "Say Hey Kid" has signed on the sweet spot in 7/10 black ballpoint pen. 2) Mickey Mantle painted on side panel of an Official American League (MacPhail) ball. Very light - if any - toning is evident, ball is clean, and the "Commerce Comet" has signed in strong 7/10 blue ballpoint ink on the sweet spot. 3) Duke Snider painted on side panel of Official National League (Feeney) ball. Strong stampings and very light toning highlight this ball. Signed by the "Duke of Flatbush" on the sweet spot in 8/10 blue ballpoint ink. 4) Total of 22 signatures from the early 1950s Pittsburgh Pirates jammed onto a mini-ball. "Official National League (Giles)" ball (in quotations because this is obviously not a regulation ball, but has a great authentic miniaturized look) shows dark toning, making many of the sigs hard to read. Highlights include: Kiner (ss), Groat, Friend. What appears to be a white dot of paint covers the middle of the main stamp. 5) Bing Crosby single-signed mini-ball. "Official National League (Frick) ball" (same as previous item) is lightly toned and Bing's signature across the sweet spot in black ink rates 5/10.
