Signed Game Puck & Stick from Wayne Gretzky’s Last Game
On April 18th, 1999, Wayne Gretzky took to the ice for the last time. Sitting in section 68, row F and seat 4, Dawn Alvan was having a great time until a puck cleared the glass and hit her square on the chest. After being checked over by EMS staff, Dawn was left with a nice bruise and a souvenir puck from her experience. The following Monday, she contacted Wayne’s agent at IMG to have her puck signed. Wayne not only signed the puck, he also gave Dawn a beautifully signed Hespeler game stick with “To Dawn, your friend, Wayne Gretzky, 99, 1999” across the blade in bold black marker. Included in this lot is the signed stick, Dawn’s ticket stub from the game and the signed game puck used in the 2nd period in Wayne’s final NHL match. A nice collection of mementos from a historic night in the career of the game’s greatest player. Comes with three LOA’s from the NY Rangers, Gretzky’s agent Mike Barnett and the consignor.
