Spectacular Cy Young Double Signed Baseball
This twice-signed Cy Young baseball is a must-have for any serious Red Sox collector. Dated 5/21/55, a large, red signature engulfs one whole panel of this baseball and counts among some of the last autographs given by the legendary pitcher, who passed away at the age of 88 on November 4, 1955 - just over five months after the date inscribed on the ball. On the adjacent panel to the red signature, a second autograph from the legendary right-hander can be found, this time in blue ink. Slightly smaller than its red-inked counterpart, the last letter of this large, bold signature (the "g" in "Young") bleeds into the printed label on the sweet spot of the ball, which identifies it as an official Little League ball. Well preserved with only faint signs of wear, the EX-MT baseball is creme in color and produced by Spalding. Viewed next to one another, the two signatures face opposite directions; in other words, one would always be upside down when compared to its counterpart. However, for display purposes, this unique baseball provides two clear, bright NM-MT signatures in two different colors of ink, greatly enhancing the number of ways that it can shown off. Simply put, you would be hard-pressed to find another ball like this one!
