Splendid Jimmie Foxx Signed Photograph
Stupendous sitting portrait of Mr. Foxx as a member of the champion Philadelphia Athletics. Circa 1929, he is dressed to the nines in the garb of this Pennsylvania powerhouse from a time long gone. Signed across his mighty chest in the darkest of inks, «With Best Wishes To My Friend Tom ‘Jimmie’ Foxx. Interesting to note he enacts the rarely used quotes in “Jimmy.” Photo carries an embossed cartouche of “H.M. Wagner Make of Portraits Philadelphia.” This is far beyond the norm in terms of photographs. Magnificent contrast and a stately 5x7”. Excellent condition with the only defect being very slight and barely noticeable glue residue from the border. This should be removable through conservation. One of the best SP’s of Old Double X you will see.
