Fantastic close-up of "Stan the Man" at bat is perfectly rendered by celebrated sports artist Bill Purdom, perfectly capturing the intensity and focus of this amazing ballplayer. A starter on nearly everyone's Dream Team, Musial achieved a lifetime batting average of .331, collecting 3630 hits in 22 seasons with the Cardinals. A three-time MVP and 20-time All-Star, Musial was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1969. Bill Purdom's work appears regularly in magazines, including Sports Illustrated, Time and Esquire, and his paintings are frequently exhibited in galleries and museums, including the Baseball Hall of Fame. This transfer on artists board measures 22 1/2" x 28" and is very boldly signed "Stan Musial / HOF 69" in Mint blue Sharpie. The print is also signed at bottom by the artist.
