Studio 54 Original 1970s Street Light Decoration

Studio 54 Original 1970s Street Light Decoration

Vintage 1960’s New York City street signal was used as a decoration at the entrance to the center of the disco universe: Studio 54. This light was obtained by a New York photographer from the gentleman who handled the sale of the fixtures of this club/disco when it was closed by originals owners Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager. Made by Marbelite Manufacturing Company of New York, New York it stands 43” tall. It works perfectly! Lights have been arranged to flash in the correct order of green, then, yellow, then red and back, doing so in a fast sequence to mirror the pump, pump of the Studio 54 disco music. In original condition, this conjures images of Warhol, Jagger, Minelli and Travolta’s minions dancing to the disco beat of the real “Saturday Night Fever.” EX.
