T59 "Flags of the World" Tobacco Card Collection (3400+)
Issued from 1909-1911 and designated as "T59 Flags of all Nations”, these cards were inserted in packs and pouches of Recruit Little Cigars, Big Run Cigarros, Hustler Little Cigars, Sub Rosa Cigarros, Sweet Caporal Little Cigars, etc. There are 200 different flags in the series (not numbered) with 11 possible different tobacco backs, giving a total of 2200 possible variations. For example, there are 20 cards of ‘Germany – Royal Standard’, with backs showing Sweet Caporal, Puritan, Big Run, Recruit (red and blue variations), Derby, Jack Rose, Scrap Iron and Sub Rosa. Condition of the cards vary greatly but 80% would be considered GD to VG. It would be great fun to see if you could assemble a master set of these beautifully painted Flag issues – or even just a regular set of all 200!
