Tabasco Cat Halter

Tabasco Cat Halter

Known for critically injuring the son of Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas during a backside training accident in early 1994, Tabasco Cat would go on to reward his trainer with victories in two legs of the American triple crown – the Preakness and Belmont Stakes. The two-time classic winner also owns wins in the El Camino Stakes, San Rafael Stakes and Kentucky Cup Classic. He retired to Overbrook Farm to stand alongside his sire Storm Cat, with earnings of $2,347,671. This leather halter, worn by Tabasco Cat while at Overbrook Farm, was acquired during a fundraiser benefiting a horse rescue organization and is accompanied by a letter of provenance.
