Ted Williams Signed Bat (PSA)
Ted Williams once said that he thought that he had taken more swings in his lifetime than anyone in history. By this, Williams included results from habits such as swinging a broomstick and hitting small berries from trees as he walked to grammar school. Presented is a terrific collectible, a bat signed by Williams, The Splendid Splinter. Williams played 19 seasons in the Major Leagues, all with the Boston Red Sox, from 1939-60. Williams finished his career with 521 home runs. That total is amazing since Teddy Ball Game missed almost five full seasons as he served in the U.S. Military in World War II and the Korean Conflict. A lifetime .344 hitter, Williams was the last man to hit at least .400 when he hit .406 in 1941. Williams was a 19-time All-Star who won six batting titles and was a 2-time Triple Crown winner and a 2-time American League MVP. The signed bat is a Hillerich and Bradsby 125 Louisville Slugger. The bat is 35" long, and it weighs 34.1 ounces. Etched on the knob is "W166." On the barrel is written "GENUINE Ted Williams LOUISVILLE SLUGGER," with the Williams name as an etched, facsimile signature. The Ted Williams signature is written with a blue ink from a marker, and Williams signed in big and bold script. The bat is in excellent condition, and it comes with a PSA LOA for the autograph.
