Terry Sawchuk Game Used Stick

Terry Sawchuk Game Used Stick

This Northland Pro hockey stick was used in the 1960's by Terry Sawchuk, and then by another goalie. This is evident because about 12" has been cut off of the top of the shaft. The original tape has been removed from the paddle, which has several small cracks on it. Numerous puck marks cover the paddle, also. Sawchuk is known by many as the "best goalie ever" in the NHL. He played in 21 seasons with five different teams, and his 103 career shutouts set a standard for future goalies. Playing hockey allowed Sawchuk to escape his deeply troubled life filled with untreated depression, alcoholism, physical pain from injuries, and sickness. His tenacity and plays on the ice made him a goaltender who will be remembered by hockey fans for generations to come.
