The Earliest Known Bruce Springsteen Concert Poster
1966 Castiles concert poster features the band in Middletown, New Jersey at the Hullabaloo Club, a chain of teen clubs named for the popular music television show. From the November 3, 1966 performance of The Castiles, it pictures Bruce Springsteen as a young guitarist on stage. Also pictured on this poster, and playing the following night, are The Shadows featuring an incredibly young and very "Little", Steven Van Zandt. It was on one of these evenings that the two would meet and form the basis for the E Street Band and remain best of friends for over 30 years. This is the only specimen of this poster extant. In fact, it is amazing that it was even produced in the first place. Such elab-orate posters were rarely if ever made for these teen club shows in the 1960s. The poster was pictured in a seminal 1995 Goldmine article featuring the rarest concert posters. Poster is 12x17" and is framed to overall 22x27". Poster is very good with some scuffs and wear.
