The Great Ohio Prison Fire of 1930 (4 photos)

The Great Ohio Prison Fire of 1930 (4 photos)

This collection is startling to look at. A fire broke out in the Ohio State Penitentiary in 1930 killing over 300 inmates and in these photos bear witness to the aftermath. In the photos we see inmates digging an enormous grave for unclaimed bodies, men laying on the ground, the covered bodies laying on tables at the fairgrounds, and a seemingly endless row of coffins in the same spot. Average 8.5”x11” and EX-MT.
