Platinum record award presented to Bruce himself for <i>The River</i>. This is one of the few platinum or gold records that can actually be traced back to the artist himself. Bruce gave this to an important and well-known member of his entourage that has been there for many years (back to the early 70s). This is the actual Gold Record given to Bruce Springsteen for this epic work, one of his most reflective and thought provoking albums about the American experience. Columbia Platinum Record award presented to “Bruce Springsteen” for the sale of over 1,000,000 copies certified platinum on December 12, 1980. Platinum-plated disc, engraved plaque, black matte, and mini-LP photo are in NRMT condition. In original silver wood frame measures 17x21”. Frame shows minor wear. Back is unopened. Comes with letter from respected collector who acquired this many years ago from the person who got this directly from The Boss.
