Thurman Munson Rookie Signed Baseball

Thurman Munson Rookie Signed Baseball

Notes: Reach OAL (Cronin) baseball signed by then rookie Thurman Munson in 1969 at Yankee Stadium. The lightly toned ball is also signed by Jerry Kenney on the east side panel opposite the Munson signature which is on the west allowing the ball to be displayed as single signed. The future Yankee Captain penned this orb at Yankee Stadium for the Leland’s consignor who had been waiting in a long line on Yankee Signing Day. He was hoping for signatures from some of the stars of 1969 like Tresh, Murcer, Pepitone and White when an announcement was made that signing would end in 5 minutes. The consignor quickly ran over to an unknown rookie player since there was no line for his autograph. It was Thurman Munson, who obliged in red fiber tip marker which was what was being used by all the Yankees on that signing day at the Stadium. He has held onto the ball ever since. LOA.

Condition: The signature is a solid “9” out of 10.
