Displayed is a Tony Lazzeri autograph that has been cut from a baseball. Lazzeri played 12 years with the Yankees (1926-37), followed by a year as a player coach with the Chicago Cubs and his final season split between the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Giants. Lazzeri hit .292 lifetime and he had especially good power for a second baseman in his era, with a career 178 home runs. Lazzeri came from San Francisco and had an Italian heritage.
