Tris Speaker Memorabilia Collection (5)
The seventh player elected to the Hall of Fame, Tris Speaker's plaque is inscribed "greatest centerfielder of his day." Great collection of incredibly rare vintage items that belonged to Speaker himself and owned until recently by his family. Includes: 1) Black souvenir HOF bat engraved "Cavalcade of Baseball, Cooperstown, June 12, 1939" and "Baseball Centennial 1839-1939". 2) Good condition photo of Speaker and Ty Cobb as teammates on the A's. Some wear and damage on Cobb's image adds to its vintage look. (If mint, this photo would sell for thousands.) 3) Stunning 3-shot montage of photos taken by the famous photographer L. Van Oeyen showing the pomp of a 1921 Indians game. Speaker, the Tribe's manager, is seen leaning into stands. VG-EX. 4) Photo of Speaker being dusted in 1920 Indians-Dodgers World Series game Some warping. 5) Stamp of Speaker's signature, which he used to sign autographs, apparently one of his secrets. Every item a gem.
