Tris Speaker Photographs from SFX Archives (9)
Nice collection of Tris Speaker photos (9) from the SF Examiner archives. The oldest dates to 1918 and shows Speaker standing at attention in his WWI Naval uniform. There is another taken in 1928 in his Philadelphia A's uniform as this was his final year in the Majors. In a third dated 1932 he is pictured with Babe Herman at the official opening of National Baseball School in LA. Photos range from 5" x 8 1/2" to 8 1/2" x 10". Conditions average VG-EX. Other photos in this lot date to later years including two printed in the 1950's but depicting him in his playing days with the Indians.
