Two Tough Stadium Pins - Ernie Banks & Babe Ruth
It is unbelievable that after Babe Ruth's death, for two days following, his body lay in state at the main entrance to Yankee Stadium, and tens of thousands of people stood in line to pay their last respects. In this politically correct world, they would never have allowed that today. Some of the attendees, may have been wearing this Babe Ruth pin, which was created around his death in 1948, at his funeral. Made of celluloid, it measures 1.75" in diameter, and has some rusting on the back. Also, a tough Ernie Banks, rare rookie variation, also 1.75" with some minor rusting on the verso.
