Ty Cobb & the 1925 Detroit Tigers Advertising Poster

Ty Cobb & the 1925 Detroit Tigers Advertising Poster

Fabulous 1925 Detroit Tigers advertising display featuring the legendary Ty Cobb. The large paper advertising sign was made for the Detroit News and measures 38x24". It would have hung in the Detroit Metro area, promoting their beloved Tigers. The '25 Detroit squad finished in the middle of the pack in the American League but were led by player/manager Ty Cobb, who batted .378 even as his career was winding to a close. Though not pictured, eventual Hall of Famer Charlie Gehringer came up for a cup of coffee with the team, and became an everyday player the following year. There are a few light stains on the bottom edge and some wrinkles near the other edges but displays as great condition. Technically VG but looks better - great example of a very rare piece. The only other we have seen other than this one was in the Barry Halper Collection.
